Mission

The GNSE&FPC is a not-for-profit organization comprised of attorneys, certified public accountants, trust officers, financial planners, insurance agents, investment advisors and charitable giving professionals that focus the majority of their practice on estate and financial planning. The organization held its first membership meeting in February of 1990 with David Gordon as its initial president.

The objective of the Council is to provide bi-monthly education programs that cover a wide variety of topics in the estate planning field - as well as networking opportunities. Breakfast meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September and November) at the Highland Park Country Club. The dues are $125 per year with a $15 breakfast charge for each meeting attended. Two (free) social events are held each year - such as a night at Ravinia, dinner and a play at the Lincolnshire Marriott, etc.

To qualify for membership, you must have a professional designation (JD, CPA, CFP, CLU, ChFC or trust officer) and 5 years of continuous estate planning experience - without a professional designation, you need 10 years of experience. An associate member needs 2 years of estate planning experience with a professional designation, otherwise 5 years experience.

To apply for membership, please contact our Membership Director, Paul T. Saharack, at 312.456.0198.
