Laurie Kaplan, CPA

Partner, Laurie Kaplan, CPA, has been with MichaelSilver for over 25 years. She serves as Co-chair of the Firm's Estate and Gift tax practice, as well as serving as the firm’s key Employee Benefit Plan specialist. Laurie is a trusted advisor to her clients, managing and addressing tax and accounting issues in a variety of industries. Laurie develops innovative solutions for her clients based on her expertise in like-kind exchanges, small business start-ups, and estate and gift taxation.

Laurie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. She is also a member of the Greater North Shore Estate & Financial Planning Council. Laurie is a distinguished speaker addressing a wide variety of audiences on the topics of taxation and personal financial matters.

Katy Giesecke, CPA

Katy Giesecke, CPA has been providing personalized, professional accounting services for more than 26 years. Katy’s experience includes tax, compliance, consulting, and accounting services for Trusts and Estates, high net worth individuals, closely held businesses, S Corporations and Partnerships, and their owners. Her industry focus includes estates, trusts, professional service providers, wholesalers, and real estate.

Katy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Degree and a Master of Science in Accounting Degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign.

Marco Loza, CPA

Marco Loza is a CPA with over six years of experience at MichaelSilver. His tax expertise includes compliance and tax planning services for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. Marco serves on MichaelSilver's Estate and Gift tax practice and Automobile Dealership committees. He is a graduate from the Driehaus College of Business at DePaul University.

Andrea Farr Capizzi, CPA / ABV / CFF

Andrea Farr Capizzi is a CPA, Accredited in Business Valuation, and Certified in Financial Forensics by the AIPCA. She concentrates her time in business valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation advisory services. She has prepared over 700 valuation engagements in many industries for numerous purposes. Her forensic accounting and litigation advisory experience includes providing expert and consulting services regarding shareholder disputes, discovery of hidden assets, and embezzlement.

Andrea received her Bachelor of Science Degree with majors in Accountancy and Marketing from the Northern Illinois University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society, and the Greater North Shore Estate & Financial Planning Council serving as a board member and treasurer. Andrea gives back to her community as an elected Trustee of the Warren-Newport Public Library District, serving as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.
